Families across Minnesota are facing extraordinary harm due to an unprecedented surge in federal immigration enforcement. These are not ordinary times. Many families are living in fear, afraid to leave their homes, go to work, or take their children to school, worried they may never return.
Both documented and undocumented community members are being targeted, detained, and, in many cases, subjected to violence. Since Trump took office, more than 10,000 of our neighbors in Minnesota have been detained, including over 3,000 people in January 2026 alone. Each detention leaves families to navigate fear, uncertainty, and separation—often with little to no support.
No one should have to face this alone.
